After 94 years of adventures, the iconic reporter Tintin is making his grand return to the world of video games in Tintin Reporter- Cigars Of The Pharaoh on Nov 7th digitally with physical versions coming at the end of the month.
Tintin Reporter – Cigars Of The Pharaoh: A New Adventure Awaits
It has been 12 years since Tintin was last on our gaming systems with the movie tie-in title The Adventures Of Tintin: The Secret Of The Unicorn, which was based on the movie of the same name directed by Stephen Spielberg and starring the voices of Jamie Bell and Andy Serkis. While the movie was reviewed pretty positively, the game received mixed reviews and neither managed to bring Tintin back into the modern zeitgeist.
Tintin Reporter – Cigars Of The Pharaoh is looking to reinvigorate the brand by bringing us an adventure unlike any other. From the team at Pendulo Studios, the minds behind Blacksad: Under The Skin, the new teaser trailer shows off fully 3D explorable environments featuring stealth gameplay as well as car and airplane chase sections and of course plenty of puzzles to solve.
Familiar Faces Return in Tintin Reporter
In the trailer above, we can see that Tintin will be joined once again by his iconic white pup Snowy, who of course joins him on all of his adventures. As well as his best friend, we also see the return of incompetent Thomson & Thompson, the identical non-twins and bumbling detectives who have a tendency to show up in strange matching outfits while trying to stay incognito in their own investigations, hopefully we will get to see plenty of these in the Cigars Of The Pharaoh. As yet there is no sign of Captain Haddock in the trailer and no real clue as to who the big bad may be.
World And System Spanning
As Tintin’s new adventure will take him across many foreign lands, Cigars Of The Pharaoh will be available across multiple systems, launching digitally on PlayStation 4 & 5, Xbox One & Series systems and PC on November 7th. Limited & Collectors Editions are confirmed for later in November 2023, followed later by a Nintendo Switch version that will release sometime in 2024.
